No words. Just some pictures, for now.

Last week, I bought some things at the Shell Shop in Morro Bay, a piece of coral, a sand dollar. I bought fresh sardines at Giovanni's. Any excuse to drive the short stretch to the beach. I don't care about the ocean. It's the morro's, the necklace of ancient lava cones called the Nine Sisters that I pass along the way.  I must find a spot on a clear day that will allow me to see all of them at once stretching to sea.

The Home Depot and Costco in SLO are laughably empty. There is no traffic. There is only the brown suede hills and raptors in the sky.

Last night we made spaghettini with walnut and sage pesto, and homemade white peach gelato in our new machine thingy.

My new commute to work ( for real )

The City of SLO abruptly ends at the beginning of farmland, vineyards and cattle ranches. This is the famous wine-growing area of Edna Valley 3 minutes from our driveway.

Morro Bay is a mere 8 minutes away

Morro Bay's close proximity to Diablo Canyon Nuclear Facility (and a diet of Pringles)

has inadvertently bred a super-race of intelligent and aggressive mutant seagulls over 40 feet tall.

There is a breadcrumb trail of  volcanic cones that stretch from San Luis Obispo to Morro Bay called the Nine Sisters.

Active more than 20 million years ago, all that remains today are the ancient lava cones from within.

The San Luis Creek meanders through town behind the old Mission. Shady bridges and pathways link the Mission park to restaurants on Higuera St.
